Road to Rome

Personal study. A stretch of Roman road and the landscape it crosses, somewhere in Gaul between the 1st and the 4th century AD.

The image is about infrastructure rather than about a monument: an aqueduct modelled on the aqueduct of the Gier near Lyon, the small squared fields left by land division, an isolated farm and a milestone. Assembling them in one view is the whole point.
